We are growing our team and looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager. Your mission is to recruit, develop, and retain a motivated, collaborative team of software engineers who build the future of Aiden.

Aiden is a new approach to Windows endpoint management that embraces core DevOps methodologies, cloud technology, and natural language processing. We reduce manual IT maintenance work, improve security, and resolve issues before they arise. Aiden bridges the gap between IT & cybersecurity and has a proven solution enthusiastically being used by our current clients.

You can work remotely from anywhere in the US or at our headquarters in Plano, Texas. Our team is distributed because it lets us work with the best people. Some team members live in California, Texas, Ohio, and New York.

What You’ll Do

  • Hire, develop, and provide leadership to a growing team of software engineers that is distributed across time zones.
  • Create an environment where software engineers can do the best work of their careers by having regular one-on-ones, career conversations, performance reviews, and course-correction conversations.
  • Ensure team members are empowered through a collective sense of ownership and belonging.
  • Maximize team output through planning, prioritization, and problem-solving and ensure predictability through focus, clarity on goals, and estimation.
  • Support team efficiency by rooting out overhead and delays and instilling a culture of urgency and excellence.
  • Provide transparency to the rest of the company on the team’s current work, velocity, and priorities.
  • Partner with product manager, UX designer, and lead software engineer to plan, design, and implement and Aiden software, including iterative improvements and innovations.
  • Measure and improve software reliability, maintainability, usability, extensibility, and security.
  • Manage the team’s workflow through agile software practices and modern tooling, including GitHub.

What you’ll bring

  • Skills: People management, software development, and delivery
  • Progressing work experience leading and being a lead contributor of a software development team
  • Three or more years of experience leading distributed software engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the software development life cycle and experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Proven history of growing talent through coaching, communicating the team’s mission, driving decisions, and achieving results
  • Experience with teams who build highly scalable and reliable cloud-based services
  • Experience working in a startup or similar environment in which being resourceful, scrappy, and fast are highly valued.
  • A technical background that allows you to be conversant and authoritative with our IT customers and software engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience effectively working in a cross-functional leadership team
  • Well-developed sense of humor
  • Authorization to work in the United States (Required).

  • Technical experience as a software engineer, especially C# or JavaScript
  • Effective collaboration with enterprise sales and customer success teams,
  • Development of a customizable product
