Microsoft Teams
A chat-based workspace with calling and meeting functionality including file, app, and desktop sharing

  • Install the prerequisite: .NET Framework 4.8
  • Install the prerequisite: Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows, only on Windows 8.1/2012R2 and earlier
    • Pause and display error messages, only in interactive or unattended mode
  • Choose the installer for Teams, based on the OS architecture
  • Install the Teams Machine-Wide Installer
    • Teams installs within each user’s profile, and runs an installation check at every logon
    • Disable auto launch, until someone runs it once
    • Remove the desktop shortcut at next logon
  • Change the exit code to 3010 (restart required), if the installation successfully ran with the SYSTEM account
    • The installation cannot finish with the SYSTEM account, so it will silently resume the next time a user logs on
